Classical Ballet

At RS Dance we believe that a sound classical training is essential for the excellence of all dance forms, we place our emphasis on classical ballet. Classical ballet is the most formal of the ballet styles, the method and execution of movement in ballet is imperative.

Our aim at RS Dance is to produce an exciting program that lays a strong foundation for all dance forms. The Classical work is the technical foundation and the most important part of the Graded Syllabi.

Free movement

A subdivision of classical dance, free movement incorporates movements in common with other dance styles such as natural movement, contemporary based dance and Greek dance.

Character dance

Character dance is another area of Classical dance; it is the theatrical presentation of national dance using original ethnic dance and music which has been freely adapted for the theatre. Character dance is integral to much of the classical ballet repertoire.
